Loved It: Itty Bitty Kitty Committee

I was checking out Honey Kennedy this morning and back in July she posted about a cat shelter in the Tacoma/Seattle area. I checked out the shelter's site and fell in love. You know how most women get baby fever? I've got kitten fever. Alas! No kitty cats allowed in this apartment. And I have a feeling we'll be in this apartment for a while. In the meantime I can check out the IBKC (itty bitty kitty committee) blog anytime I please to get my kitten fill. And in case these pictures aren't enough kitten-ess for you then go here

...and yes I basically copied and pasted these pics from Honey Kennedy. I hope that's cool...

Loved It: Movie Makeovers

It's truly amazing what brow grooming and a good hair cut can do for a girl. Add a little makeup and some cute clothes and you have yourself a proper makeover! I love when a movie features a great makeover! Here are a few of my favorites...

I'm trying to make the switch from coffee to green tea. I don't think it's going to work out. I need my coffee.

Loved It: Branch and Birdie

Been wanting some great smelling candles that look pretty in my apartment forever. Everyday at work I'm surrounded by pretty candles that smell amazing. Why don't I just buy myself a few of those, you ask? Well because I don't poop gold, that's why. Jo Malone makes a gorgeous candle for $65. (yes that's a normal sized candle, they make minis for $35 and a jumbo for $400. yes. we're still talking about candles.) Then there's everybody's favorite, Diptyque. (if you've never heard of it, you'd still probably recognize it) Now their candle is $60 and to be honest I don't really like the way any of their candles smell. Sure they're pretty, but $60? Really? Trish McEvoy makes the most amazing smelling candle. Wild Blueberry Vanilla. Trust me, I've never met someone who doesn't like the smell. And although it's cheaper than the aforementioned candles, it's still a spendy $50. WHY??? And then, of course there is my beloved line, Laura Mercier. Every holiday season she comes out with her roasted chestnut candle. It smells like WONDERFULNESS. Really, it does. Like cinnamon rolls and pumpkin pie and a roaring fire while it's snowing outside. And while I love to support my line, they don't pay me enough to spend $42 on a candle. Where is this tirade going you ask? Well I stumbled across the most delightful little store on Friday and thus came an end to my candle woes. Branch and Birdie is located on upper Stark street, in the Montavilla neighborhood. It is the cutest store! It's mostly a gift shop but it does carry some cute clothes too. (for mother and child) Looking for a great gift and don't want to spend an arm and a leg? Check this place out! Oh and did I mention they have the BEST selection of beautiful Voluspa (jumbo) candles under $30! (some even under $20)

Those earrings on the far right were crying out to me. I told them to be patient. My husband  would be back for them. Hint. Hint.

Loved It: Ballerinas

When I was little my parents gave me the option of taking ballet or gymnastics. I chose gymnastics. I loved it. I dreamed of balance beams and uneven bars. Ballet never really appealed to me. (super weird! wouldn't you think the pink tu-tus would be right up my alley?) Until I grew up. Now i wish I was a ballerina. Or at least knew a little more about the beautiful dance than I know now. I mean, I know what a plié is, I  just don't know how to do a proper one. I've been looking into taking lessons here

Loved It: Resort Wear 2012

I realized that it was right about this time last year I was getting ready for Miami. This cold weather we've been having in the pacific northwest really has me wishing I was on my way to somewhere warm. (sigh) Sadly, no such trips are planned this winter. (sigh) Designers have the right idea, though, with their Resort Wear 2012 collections. They know that not only does everyone deserve a sunny vacation in the dead of winter, but they deserve to do it in style. So if I were on my way back to South Beach (and had unlimited funds to buy anything I pleased) I would snatch up the Alice + Olivia Resort Wear 2012 Collection. It spells M I A M I to me.

Loved It: Pretty Laundry Rooms

To be clear, any sort of laundry room would make me happy. It's my dream to one day have a washer and dryer inside my humble abode. It's my extra-extra dreamy part of the dream to have a lovely space for my washer and dryer. Until then I will make do by looking at pictures of pretty laundry rooms.

of course, I saved the best for last...
